Vests are now cool.
Forget grandpa style - tailored waistcoats and knitted vests are on trend! From casual to dressy, I've got a style for everyone.
Last Spring vests came in hot (literally!) in linen blends, tailored styles, and matching sets. It’s a trend that’s sticking around, and it’s SO wearable! Why you may ask?…
It’s the perfect sleeveless item that looks more chic than a tank or singlet, is not fitted or tight, can be worn work style, and can dressed from day to night! Scroll down for my detailed tips on the three types, how to style, and where to shop…
1. Waistcoat style
This are more like a classic waistcoat with a v-neck button down front and tailored finish, that ends just below the waist. A more structured style, we saw these all last season - so you may already own one, and if you don’t I’ve got plenty of fab finds!
MY PICK » I love this classic style in crisp white that is new for Spring. It’s 55% linen, size 6-18 and… currently 20% off! Shop »
2. Longline style
Very similar to the waistcoat - tailored style - but doesn’t finish near the waist! It’s much longer and finishes below the hips. I love that it cinches at the waist to give definition, then glides over the hips… with no need to tuck in!
MY PICK » Be quick! This is a steal on sale at just $48.99! It’s 55% linen, comes in size 6-16, and also comes in white and chocolate… Tap to Shop »
3. Knitted style
This is a more relaxed look, with less tailoring and structure. Knits are soft, drape beautifully, and are comfy to wear! My tip is wear it now, perfect for Spring - and also looks FAB layered with a white tee... and add a trench coat!
MY PICK » This one is divine in a soft and luxurious cotton/cashmere blend. It comes in this oat colour as well as black, cocoa and greymarle. Sizes 6-16. Tap to Shop »
Styling Tips
STYLE TIP » You’ll notice most of the vests come in black, white, and neutral tones. This makes it SO easy to ‘add to cart’ as these colours are so versatile. You don’t get over them quickly (like you can with brights), and so they last longer in your wardrobe! Here’s some super easy styling tips for vests:
Relaxed jeans, sneakers, add a trench
Dressier jeans, ballet flats, add a blazer
Midi skirt, sling backs, cute bag and gold jewels
Mini skirt, sneakers or flats, layer a trench, fab sunnies
Trousers, flats or heels, cute jewels and coloured lip!
